3D Printing is going to have more to do with our future than most people realize.  I fully imagine it being the Amazon fulfillment system of the future.  No more warehouses conveniently located all across the globe.  Just a shiny new (or old) 3d printer in every household.  You shop Amazon for the desired product, press purchase and the the specs are sent to your home 3d printer and you receive instant gratification as your product starts printing immediately.  And while this process may take a while now, it is still very new and progressing rapidly.  In fact in 2010, the video that put me on the bandwagon was the 3d printing of a wrench which took a few hours, while now the technology has advanced to a point where they can PRINT entire homes with complete with working electrical, plumbing, paint, tile, etc.

Did that set in???

And this can all be done in less than a day.  As in 20 hours to be precise!  Imagine the possibilities.

 

 

Where else can this technology help us?  It is already making huge differences in the medical field, allowing for drastically cheaper solutions than ever before.

 

 

What’s next?  How about 4D Printing?  Believe it or not it is already being worked on.  Imagine the possibilities.  Things printing themselves.  Self-Assembly.  Wow!
